Rabbi Yehoishua Ben Levi says “See how great humility is to G-d for when the Beis Hamikdash was here a person offers a sacrifice and he has a reward for it – each sacrifice individually, but a person who is humble G-d considers it as if He offered all the sacrifices in the world! As it says “the sacrifice to G-d is a humble spirit” and furthermore, his prayers will be answered.

After a lifetime of seeking, and may I also say, a lifetime of receiving – it seems to me that life boils down to 3 fundamental truths:
The first is that we are creations – we are created to imagine that our existence is somehow independent.
We’re in actual fact, much like an Avatar in a computer screen or game that thinks that he is real; though without the computer and the amazing technology – creating the entire time, space and graphical interface – his entire reality, is non-existent. And of course, because his reality depends on another reality, it means not only has he been created in the past, but he is being created in the present!
So in other words, our consciousness is an offshoot of a Super-consciousness that is not only conscious of us, but is on one hand creating a sense of independent consciousness, while simultaneously concealing His consciousness, so we can be conscious.
The ultimate purpose of the exercise is dual – to on one hand break out of The Matrix when the existential pain of aimlessness causes a seeking of truth, and on the other hand, through the individual understanding that the ancient truth – The Torah, Jewish mysticism… namely you have been chosen! You are part of the infinite symphony of life! and understanding and fulfilling your part as guided by G-d in the Torah, is both your personal redemption – and as we all play our notes, The Grand Symphonic Harmony.
