How to rejoice in G-d’s joy 😊

The Tanya teaches us that G-d’s ultimate desire in creation was to have a dwelling place in the lowest worlds – meaning, within us and within this physical world. Think of it like this: a king might have magnificent palaces, but his deepest joy comes from being welcomed and truly present in the humble home of a beloved, devoted subject. G-d’s “joy” is not like our human emotions; it’s a profound, infinite satisfaction in His essence being revealed and experienced within our finite existence. When we choose G-d, when we act with kindness, when we strive for goodness, we are literally fulfilling His deepest desire, and that brings Him immense joy.

So, how do we rejoice in G-d’s joy? It’s about shifting our perspective from our personal struggles and perceived lacks, to G-d’s perspective. G-d doesn’t see us as “unworthy” because of a challenge; He sees each of us as a precious soul, a spark of His own essence, striving and yearning. Our very existence, our very desire to connect, is a testament to our deep soul connection. When we realize that G-d’s joy is in our very being and our efforts to connect with Him, regardless of the outcome, then we can tap into that joy.

It’s about recognizing that G-d is not just with us, but within us, giving us life and purpose at every moment. Even in moments of sadness or challenge, the Divine presence is there, sustaining us. To rejoice in G-d’s joy is to acknowledge that His presence is the ultimate reality, the source of all good, and to find solace and strength in that truth. It’s an act of faith and trust, realizing that even when we don’t understand the path, G-d’s love and wisdom are guiding it. This realization can transform pain into a deeper connection, and that connection, in turn, brings forth a profound, quiet joy that transcends circumstance.
