So if we trace, as Kabbalah speaks about, the order of how reality progresses — or in more accurate terms, the mechanism from the Creator to the creation — we receive extraordinary insight into the purpose of existence.
For as we know, the end is rooted in the beginning.
In the beginning, there is only the Creator — pure, simple, truthful, with infinite love, infinite goodness, and unlimited ability. It was this very loving Essence perceiving you and every Jew, desiring connection and wishing to bestow goodness upon the world.
As the Hebrew word אהבה (Ahavah — love) contains within it the idea of giving, so too, when you truly love someone, you wish to give to them. From this desire emerged what Kabbalah calls the primordial thought — the original Divine “blueprint” or spiritual DNA of all that would ever occur.
This itself reveals profound intelligence. For whenever we encounter countless functioning parts operating in harmony, it becomes obvious that Someone assembled them.
From there came the next stage: the formation of a space in which finite existence could emerge within the Infinite. Before the physical universe of time and space appeared, there existed spiritual worlds — each more subtle and transcendent than the one below it — containing within them countless realms, souls, and angels.
Our sages teach that every thought, speech, and action of a human being creates spiritual effects and even angels. Reality itself functions as a living memory system.
The highest worlds receive Divine light through the ten Sefiros — the channels through which the Infinite reveals itself. From there, existence descends world after world: Atzilus, Beriah, Yetzirah, and finally Asiyah — this physical world.
And all of this exists for one essential purpose: free choice.
A world in which G-d is concealed, yet can become revealed through consciousness, desire, refinement, and awareness.
Ultimately, the infinite future — which has already begun — emerges when the soul desires something higher than the material alone. That yearning awakens awareness of the spiritual reality, and even more importantly, awareness of the personal revelation of G-d Himself within existence.
