First G-d grants an individual success, but then creates a catastrophe, for in the Kabbalistic design of the universe, there are three technical operating systems:

1. Kindness, which represents what we humans normally consider happiness / success etc.

2. Then there is catastrophe, namely, what we humans consider failure / heartbreak etc.

3. But this then evokes Divine compassion, leading to a third most sublime state, in which an infinite mercy emanates from the Divine heart, whereby though on one hand one’s life becomes peaceful, simultaneously it is filled with wonderful opportunities to fulfill one’s higher purpose of goodness kindness and growth.
