Today we read the story of Purim, remarkably retelling a miracle in which no mention of the Creator is mentioned; in fact, the only one of the 24 Holy-Books (Tanach) that does not actually mention God’s name.

Why?

In fact, according to Judaism, Purim is so great that when Moshiach comes and all other holidays such as Passover and even Yom Kippur will become insignificant relative to the newly established “Moshiach’s Coming” holidays, which we will establish and celebrate, Purim will still retain its significance!

In Purim we find actually the very secret order of Creation.

Of course Purim is all about secrets – first Esther hid the fact she was a Jewess; God’s involvement in the seven year saga (from the beginning of the story till its culmination) was hidden, and yet anyone who looks from the beginning to the end, from a threat of annihilation to perhaps one of the most unparalleled times of Jewish influence, where the Chief-Rabbi of the Jews becomes the Prime Minister! and the nations of the world feared him, hence “many converted to Judaism” as the meggilah writes – where Esther’s son Darius allowed the rebuilding of the Holy Temple, where the Jewish people reconnected to their heritage, a connection which to this very day has endured – Wow!

So what’s going on? – Who exactly are these people the Jews? – Why do people so often (including today) wish to kill them?

What’s their cosmic destiny, purpose and mission?

You see all these questions get revealed through understanding that as the Baal Shem Tov teaches, the Purim story didn’t happen, its always happening!!

You see, Purim is a miracle which itself is hidden; an extraordinary sequence which results in one thing, personal growth.

Yes that’s the hidden secret, for life can only be lived in one of three ways: similar to as Einstein said “there are only two ways to live life, one as though everything is a miracle, the other as though nothing is.”  Yes, my friend this is the truth, either you see miracles hence hope for them, or you don’t hence begrudgingly trudge through the morasses of mundanity.

But there is a third truth which supersedes existential nirvana and existential trudgery and that is; what if behind all events was a lesson, what if behind everything you see and hear is a message, what if there is a hidden layer to reality which only becomes apparent if you switch on its channel?!

In simple words, life is infinite growth – today’s lesson will be tomorrow’s history and tomorrow’s lesson will be the day after that’s history, in a cosmic interplay between the teacher and the student.
