I remember the time when my daughter disagreed – I was very happy! – because, though it is cute when little children listen; it is when they disagree (not being rude, but a difference of opinion) that we can see that they formed an independent reality – this is the most important idea – for as we are born, our perspective is very much tied to our parent, caregiver etc. but as a person feels secure they will develop an independent viewpoint (which is why, if someone remains dependent, their viewpoint will always be synonymous with the person they are dependent on.)
