0 responses to “It is most interesting to note – as everything is in fact simply teaching, as the very name Torah (Bible) means – lessons – So “In the beginning God made the universe” – this universe by nature is a place of “darkness and chaos” (the Hebrew word for universe, is in fact “Olam” which means helem, the concealment of Divine goodness – as nature is ambivalent, as Einstein said: science has nothing to say about morality) and then the lesson begins – for the first thing God did, is create – “light” – This light cannot be physical (for the sun and moon and stars were created on the fourth day – rather as Rashi (the famous biblical teacher) comments, this light refers to the acts of goodness and kindness – “and God separated between the light and the darkness” – for if we humans do not clearly distinguish between what is an act of light: goodness and kindness; or darkness: cruelty namely, demeaning, belittling, obviously physical acts of violence (perhaps soul acts are far worse as we all know)”
