I was in Walmart last evening and I noticed someone in the aisle ahead of me purchasing the paper and the headline was “Rage” – referring I am pretty sure to the riots going on – papers are master lies – the words they use completely obfuscate the truth
Rage seems to mean “I have a genuine gripe which caused me to be enraged”
But let’s analyze that for a moment – what is the emotion that causes hate (for hate and rage are the same emotion)
Now if I see a. hurting b., I will, if I am the greatest, noblest, kindest, most loving person, not feel rage/anger, rather I may feel a. compassion on the person being hurt. b. feel repulsed (repulsion is a sense of revulsion – for example, you don’t hate excrement, though you may be repulsed by its smell)
In other words, rage denotes hate and hate is intimately connected to the ego
