One of my jobs is supervising Cholov Yisroel on a goat farm.

Recently a whole bunch of kids were born.

It is interesting to see the psychological reality of a goat.

When they are born and in their kid stage, very similar to a human; they become very rambunctious.

When you walk  by, they are full of love – eager – jumping – wagging their tails – this love is the hope /desire, be it for food, social etc.

However as they mature, they sort of get with the program – gone is that eternal optimism and they are like most adults – slightly depressed – going through the motions, as Henry David Thoreuo said “Living lives of quite desperation.”

But that’s where we differ from a goat – using our intelligence, we can search and discover the meaning, the purpose! and using our minds we can influence our behavior and live it, as well!
