The truth begins where falsehood or mistaken assumptions end.
So in order to truly get to the truth, we must – sorry – eradicate stupidity or mistaken wisdom.
I certainly don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, but in order to arrive at the truth, we must eradicate that which portends to be, for as long as we assume, what isn’t is, then we can’t believe what is, is.
So if we look at worldviews, all fall into one of two camps: either a belief in a higher power or a total deterministic view of realty.
To begin, though, most of the world (84% to be precise) believe in a higher power; very few agree as to whom, what, the higher power is; and even amongst those who agree it is God – at least 50% – very few agree as to whom, what, God is, and even less so, what he desires.
As to people who believe in a deterministic pattern, this was conclusively disproven, through Heisenberg’s “principle of uncertainty” which even Einstein, who wished to believe in a deterministic pattern, was forced to concede that the universe is driven by a mysterious force, which there is no deterministic pattern (in other words, though the reality we engage with seems deterministic, but once you break it down to the cellular and molecular level, as all fields of science have discovered, it is as the Mordechai expressed: “Nature simply is repetitive miracles” – again, science has concluded that we have no understanding of how nature functions, so though we can witness its function, at the core level we have no understanding how it functions, and we know at the super-core level, it cannot even be determined by Newtonian laws, it is rather completely unmeasurable.)
Now, who am I to weigh in on the debate of who and more importantly what God is and wants?! but there seems to be a simple factor which disproves practically all notions and proves what the Rebbe teaches from Kabbalah.
In other words, the great flaw of all notions of God, is, they are inconsistent with the reality we are living in!
Only a notion of God and his desires, consistent with the reality we live in, can possibly be true!
For example, the Christian notion of the satan is a very neat way of explaining evil, but Judaism asserts, that there is one God, the satan being a bad demon created by God to challenge man.
In fact, the core monotheistic idea, was of-course discovered by Abraham, who realized, based on logic – it is impossible to say that things are separate forces, for they are all working in tandem; so while Christianity and Islam would like to disavow evil from God, of course, that not only goes against the belief of Abraham, it actually doesn’t allow for the rational explanation that led to monotheism in the first place – namely, the factors working in tandem, prove of a single conductor – to exist.
Without belaboring the falsehood or mistaken assumption too much, suffice it to say, 99% of believers make an erroneous dichotomy between good and evil, disavowing evil from God, which effectively annihilates the entire idea of monotheism in the first place.
So Kabbalah teaches us an entirely simple new approach – life is not about God, God is about you! – just as parents are about their children, as they chose to have them and care for them out of love! hence the children are about their growth, and likewise God seeks one thing, namely, the progression of the human race as a whole and as he is truly unlimited, of each individual in particular!
As such, three realities need to occur: namely, there is God, there is freedom of choice and then there are experiences: for all of life is summed in the idea of experiences; for everything we see, hear, taste, touch, think, feel, is an experience.
Now Kabbalah teaches: every experience leads us to an insight; some, what not do, others, what to do; and hence, evil too serves a vital role in giving the searching, enquiring mind a contrast between light and darkness, good and evil; leading one to freely choose the light over darkness! and because God is infinite, there are no limitations on the amount of experiences we shall be given, ever growing our mind and heart!
