The very premise of Judaism is perhaps the opposite of the premise of Jewish mysticism – not to say God-forbid Judaism is wrong, but the way people perceive it, is.

In other words, if you took a simplistic approach, Judaism has a really simple line: do this, be rewarded, do this, be punished – most religions follow the same story line, but is it true?

The answer on a far deeper level is, that as the Sha-lah (a great Kabbalist and written elsewhere) contends, reward and punishment are never acts of “Here’s a candy good-boy or a spanking naughty-boy” which is to reduce both God and us to levels of infants.

Rather reward and punishments are causation of micro level cosmic effects.

We now know, tiny fluctuations create even infinite results (be it quantum physics, chaos theory ) in other words, the issue is not “Here’s God’s recipe and if you follow it, you will be rewarded,” ironically it’s not even “here is a recipe which if you follow it, it automatically rewards,” rather, behind the whole structure of destiny lies a single goal – to make a mentsh out of a potential evil person, for though no man accepts that he is and certainly could be evil, but what about all those who were or are?! hence we must say, all people have the capacity to become a mentsh or to become evil and the mechanism which automatically works and brings all blessings in its stead, is simply to listen!
