Once upon a time Robbie the dog dreamed a big fantasy – “why should I live like a dog in an outhouse, better to live in a dog home.” So he set his mind to it and eventually found an abandoned dog house, but lo and behold, Robbie was none the happier for it – and in his loneliness and emptiness he dreamed a fantasy, “why should I live in a dog house, I should live in a house!” and so Robbie set his task, endearing himself, until one day, Robbie was adopted, and he had a comfortable bed, good food – at first he felt great, but poor Robbie, it was destined for sadness, for Robbie soon felt, “what is the point of all of this? – no dog gets it better, yet it still makes me no happier!”

So Robbie went to a Rabbi, and the Rabbi said, “dear dear Robbie, your problem is as common, as it is old; it is as foolish, as it is common; you see Robbie, you’re thinking about yourself, no matter how fine the bed, no matter how good the food, you will never ever be happy….”
