The question of life is not, success or not; rather, goodness or not!? Now we might think, goodness is the easiest thing in the world, all you need to do, is, do good! Not so simple, because the ultimate aim, why a single God created many, is, from many should come something better than single; namely, unity! and unity is only when there are, as the famous saying on the American dollar “E-Pluribus-Unum, from many one” and though of course, we too desire this (as our souls are God, hence imbued with the same love for “E-Pluribus-Unum;”) As God did not create robots, rather free men and women, and in order for freedom to prevail, there must be an equally strong counter-opposing force (at least in our perception (because of course nothing can oppose the Creator of it, rather, we are put in a position where we do not see the creator, yet we do feel…)) hence God gave us egos; so, as we desire unity, so we desire superiority! – mutually exclusive, antagonistic, hostile traits – in other words, this is why we need to follow Judaism, for the essence of Judaism is a humbling factor, gratitude to God=humility; not eating whatever you want=humility; hence this humbling factor is what allows us to counterbalance our ego, but it only works if we one hundred percent accept it – if we are wishy-washy, have a single escape hatch, then as the famous adage, “a chain is only as strong as its weakest link” – in other words, we need to humbly accept to only adhere to what God teaches –this can be done by asking an orthodox Rabbi or better yet appointing a personal mashpia (Chassidic Rabbi/Rebbetzin as a guide!)
