The answer is, what is Moshiach!? – In fact, we find contradictory statements from the Rebbe in terms of, if there is such a thing as ischaltah diguala – the beginning of redemption – by analyzing this, we will understand.
You see, the Rebbe disagreed that the state of Israel’s establishment was part of ischaltah digualah, while at the same time, he clearly stated, that the redemption of the Previous Rebbe from jail in communist Russia, was!
How can that be!? – Can one rabbi’s redemption be more important than the return of the Jewish people to Israel?!
And the answer is, yes!
For, what is the point of Moshiach!?
If it is that Jews should return to Israel and rebuild the Temple? God would never have sent us into two thousands years of hell on earth!
Obviously, there is far more to Moshiach represented in the Chabad Rebbes that it is precisely their Torah – something we celebrate from the Torahs of the Alter Rebbe, who wrote Tanya, till our beloved Rebbe’s Torah, that represents Moshiach, more than all the physical pleasures, peace, prosperity that Moshiach will give us!
And obviously, all the physical pleasures are not Moshiach! Rather, they are clearing the way, they are eliminating the desires, which control the human consciousness! So, in other words, what we went through is to realign our priorities to the priorities what the Rebbes teach us – and ultimately Moshiach culminates in the unity of God and the Jewish people!!!
