Many years ago a father loved two sons, Abraham loved from two different mothers, Isaac and Ishmael.
God promised him in the Bible (Genesis 17-6) “I will make you very fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you.”
As a Jew, you and I are brothers.
We both have managed to witness the fulfillment of God’s promise to our great great grandfather, whom we both embrace as the founder of our monotheism (believing in one God,) faiths.
In life, there are really only two options: one to see what you have in common with another, hence love him, for this is what binds families, for their shared ancestry, brings them a recognition of their shared blood, and it is this simple recognition, that unites people.
On the other hand, people often take a different approach; they tend to see how the other somehow is raping, stealing, trying to harm them! Fear is the mother of hate and hate is the mother of evil.
So the truth is, it makes no difference who is right nor who is wrong – in an age of nuclear weapons, even the bitter enemies, America and Russia made peace, for no wars can be won, though we can God-forbid mutually assure each others destruction!
But then again, what would our grandfather Abraham like to see?!
For in the end of the day, do we not share the same blood!?
