There are three GPSs that run man.

The ideal GPS would be rationally based, scientifically (observation) confirmed, intellectually sound, decisions.

The more common GPS is emotions, there are two primary emotions, love for that which gives you pleasure and fear for that which gives you pain – animals as people can – live solely in this paradigm – certain foods for example, give it pleasure, hence they eat; others, pain, (say a rock) hence they don’t; that why some are herbivores and some are carnivores, its all a built in preprogrammed thing – this is also why people struggle so much, for our minds are rational and create a new love for something you intellectually discern to be wise for you to do, which usually goes against an instinctual feeling! for example, you may know it is wise for you to study to get a degree to support your family, but you may be too lazy – an instinct – hence your mind and your heart, center from where your emotions emanate to your brain to contemplate how to do them, hence a lot of what we think is actually simply rationalizations – elaborate excuses – as every drug addict can attest to – which is why the first step in breaking addiction is to acknowledge the problem for as  long as  one doesn’t acknowledge that they are addicted to an emotion / feeling, one cannot recognize their motive, which isn’t rational rather emotional! and hence, the mind cannot control the behavior – though innately a person does have (unlike a animal) the ability to tell themselves what to do! (even if goes against an instinct)!

And last but very much least, is ego, – revenge, anger! – to a large of extent the western world, copying the Jewish world has already rejected ego, hence we reject the idea of kings and dictators, but Arabs for example, are solely based on ego, hence they terrorize both their own and other populations.
