Well who knows, but I think I do.
So though you won’t get any money back guarantees, here is how Moshiach is going to come!
I believe it was Reb Elimelech of Lizensk who said “Moshiach was going to come in an apocalyptic style, but due to Reb Meilech’s prayers, it will come in the following manner: – as the storekeeper raises his shutters to open for business, the news will arrive, ‘Moshiach has come!’”
In other words, we often have an apocalyptic herald of Moshiach, which is not how it is going to happen – not to mention that there are prophecies that would seem to support this.
The reason is simple – there is a well known tradition, that bad prophecies can be like dreams, they never will manifest in reality.
But the good prophesies – the peace, the third temple, etc. that Moshiach will bring, will definitely occur.
As the Rebbe famously teaches, the arrival of Moshiach can come in one of two ways: either through some kind of miraculous approach, or simply the miraculous that comes in a natural format.
Now ultimately, we need to know what Moshiach is about, and see how life is heralding in this transformation to understand – also based the Rebbe’s talks – what is, and will occur.
The key transformation that will occur, is not the external, rather internal transformation.
Even if the entire world suddenly sprouted jelly beans, if you and I couldn’t see it, or if we couldn’t appreciate that it is a miracle, it simply wouldn’t matter!
So transformation – even external transformation – is really only about internal transformation!
A newfound awareness, a newfound appreciation!
Hence, for this transformation to occur, God created our generation. Steeped in atheism, agnosticism, people are finding God.
The benefit of a persons discovery over a traditional message, is, one is internalized, the other not.
It is for this reason, that we find, people who have found God, are in fact far more passionate about God than people who for reason of their upbringing always knew him.
As our sages teach us, the passion of a baal teshuvah (one who discovers God) is far greater than those of even a tzaddik gammur (the most passionate traditional Jew.)
In other words, we are going through an intellectual process, in which we are discovering a truth, hence internalizing it, hence becoming obsessed with it, as it is so beautiful!
