All of these universes receive energy, primarily as a conduit for what ends up occurring in our universe, based on the energy we engage in!

In other words, when we are nice, when we give charity, when we say the holy words of prayer and Torah, especially the words of Tehillim etc., when we say thank-you, then we switch on the goodness of God to be the light / energy source for above, which trickles into the lowest universe and becomes the source for goodness, especially for the person who switches the switch.
