We are either a Merkavah, Gods car, in other words, like the forefathers, sublimating our intuition and understanding to God’s, or we are a composite of both positive and negative instincts i.e. like most of us are, namely, we love love, but we also have egos that get offended, however we would feel guilty if we did harm someone; or lastly, God-forbid when a person is so angry that all they want to do is harm and in this state the Divine soul “dissipates” and they are only left with their evil, which is the reason some people maim, abuse, because it makes them feel a bit better about their low self-image e.g. bullies, antisemites etc.
