So why oh why, do people who have worked so hard for their fame and fortune kill themselves.

The answer is unfortunately very simple.

When Rabbi Paltiel came to south Africa he farbrenged and one of the things he said was that he heard on the radio that more rich people commit suicide than poor people and the reason was explained that the poor people still think there will be joy in getting rich.
