Communication lies at the heart of world peace for the simple reason that assuming the request and people involved are just, than there is no reason why everyone cant get onto the same page.

The problem is what we find with the disciples of Rabbi Akivah, that as each one of them thought his methodology of understanding truth was right, instead of remaining friends they despised each other.

The premise must be, that all people desire the right thing (obviously terrorists, Nazis etc. are exceptions and one needs like Amalek to simply eradicate the evil before it eradicates another, but people who will not do such heinous barbarism but merely have another viewpoint must be regarded as intrinsically desiring truth.)

In fact this is how America beat Russia using this very method. Instead of digging their heels in the sand and saying “we will never communicate” they simply bridged – something that took a lot of diplomatic maneuvering to do – a communication dialogue with their nemesis Russia.

The end result, Russia realizing the stupidity of communism and the friendship of the west literally changed and gave up an empire for the sake of their newfound respect for a better way.
