From the center comes intensity.

A vortex pulls everything in its path to its own chaos, leaving chaos and destruction.

Within us is both a vortex and the calm before the storm.

The vortex is our instinctual passion, that like a vortex consume us and causes chaos in their wake, think of a person addicted to drugs.

But then there is also the calm within us, our rational side, our mind, that can think objectively.

This mind that we have is what makes us unique.

An animal in heat loses all proportions, loses him or herself to the instincts, which is why it can be quite dangerous to be in its way at that time.

The same is true with us – if our instinctual desires for say sex, money, drugs etc. overtake our logical framework, we are not different from a rampaging animal, destroying both ourselves and everyone else in its path.

But when we our using our minds, when we have decisions based on rational thought, when our souls are guiding our behavior, can there be a nobler creature?
