One of the primary ideas of Chassidus/Jewish mysticism is that G-d reacts to you.

Unfortunately many people see God in an idol-like manner, in other words, they see power, and you need to sacrifice to it for it to be appeased.

Nothing could be further from the truth; if anything, we could compare G-d to the unconditional love of a mother to her baby – an intrinsic essential self love that is automatic; at the same time nothing gives the mother more happiness then a smile from the baby.

In other words, true, G-d loves us unconditionally, but just as a mother receives unconditional pleasure seeing her baby smile, laugh and being happy, similarly G-d gets unconditional pleasure when we are happy with the myriad blessings he unconditionally bestows upon us.
