This morning I thought of the following concept that really helped me identify myself
According to the Tanya, the premier Jewish mysticism guide for life, within us there are three possible ranges of desire, the first lets call the G-dly desire – the G-dly desire includes selflessness, G-d of course and unconditional love; then there is the animal desire, the animal desire contains instinctual desires much like all animals have, say for food, procreation etc. as well as certain spiritual desires i.e. compassion, assisting the less fortunate
Now most of us fall into the animal desire mode, for we are very pride based, and get offended and even evil when our pride is hurt
The third desire is revenge, which is part of the pure evil contained in the animal desire
