You can only understand the ingredients if you look at the recipe – if you look at a cake, you have only clues – but there is a recipe book – By looking at the recipe of the human – we see. Firstly, it is obvious, we are not our bodies – all living things are divided not by their bodies; for what is the body but a shape – We are our souls – our souls house our instincts (which the body then houses). Now the soul on a root level is Divine (for all is Divine) But there are three main soul categories – there is the animal soul – the animal soul is primarily two instincts: the instinct for pleasure and the fear of pain (coupled with, this is the basic instinct, to love life, hence the desire for survival and conversely fear of death). Interestingly, though this instinct runs all animals, it is not the sum total of a human, which is obvious; in a human we have (uniquely, a prefrontal lobe that no other mammalian specie, certainly reptile etc. has) A intellective soul (now there is great difference between an intellect devoid of emotion and an intellect run by emotion; many animals are far smarter than people, but they only use their brain in the emotional direction, for example, both animals and humans can be cunning, if it is in there interest; but if you took away the motive to gain, they wouldn’t be cunning; both human and animals can be drug addicts, for that is the emotion of pleasure using the mind) Rational intellect, is the ability to think, but, and this is a major but! this ability cannot exist in an a emotional environment; for example, if you were a chef and it was your job to dissect a soup (to find its ingredients, which really is the job of the rational brain, to dissect, to reach the core) if the soup was hot, you would be greatly hindered! (Hence all emotions, be they ego, lust etc. etc. greatly affect our rationality, as is obvious.) But finally, we are not only capable of rationality mixed with emotional instincts, we are God! – for what also makes us different to animals, is our compassion! – animals don’t have compassion, they don’t help other animals
