You are a Shliach – Official Emissary of G-d and the Rebbe

In the last few years of the incredible teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe he emphasized this point numerous times. “Every single Jew – and in fact every person – is a Shliach emissary of G-d” (hence of the Rebbe, who like Mosses transmits G-dliness to his generation.)

How do we know this?

It states clearly in the Mishnah, “The entire purpose of man is to work for G-d.”

Now there can be two kinds of emissaries.

The one who has the title but does not actually deliver, and the other who may not even know he has the title, but delivers.

The Rebbe spoke to a father who though himself not Chabad was telling the Rebbe how is son is organizing Kosher food for Jewish students on campus. “Send regards to my emissary” the Rebbe said. The father looked quizzically at the Rebbe – i.e. he is not an official emissary of yours.

The Rebbe replied, “Any Jew who helps a fellow Jew is MY emissary.”
