All of psychology – at least in the past – was down the road of hell!
As the Alter Rebbe says, in our daily portion of Tanya, that just as light automatically – without effort – banishes darkness, so to, wisdom banishes stupidity.
What brought someone to a psychologist, some kind of stupidity that occurred to them and through them off balance – what was the remedy? discover the stupidity and realign yourself to it, either through blaming the parents, or through understanding the offender etc. etc.
The fact is, as is evidenced, these psychologies don’t work; for the simple reason, that if you use the paradigm of light and darkness, the way to banish dark thoughts, is never through delving into them, for that only causes the horror movie to continue, rather to increase in light thoughts!
