ego in a jar

So here’s what it has taken me a decade to figure out

No need to thank me – it’s what I do for life

The Kabbalah teaches, three organs can rule (or do) man

Ideally our mind’s discernment

Usually our hearts instincts (what gives us pleasure and recoiling from pain)

But sadly we have an ego – the desire to be the best

Now here is, what’s so simple and so interesting

I was discussing with someone at work today, how in America we are incredibly naive – we are fortunate to live in a country that gives us freedom – in fact he said, a black man at his previous company all the time was complaining about how he was discriminated against (this despite the fact his wage was exactly the same as mine) so I told him, would you prefer to go back to live under the open societies in Africa?! – and he never complained again.

In other words, our ego cannot think – it only feels either higher or lower; obviously it enjoys to feel higher, but gets angry when it feels lower
