Why our political system stinks – all political systems (except for the purest Biblical) have problems – there is no doubt about it, that relative to other tyrannies our political system has great benefits – but if something can be relatively good, then it certainly can relative to better; be worse – the fundamental approach of our political system, which has been adopted in perhaps the majority of the world is based on a assumption which is erroneous – namely, that a politician will fulfill the will of the people – the problem with this supposition is twofold – firstly as opensecrets.org that tracks campaign spending reveals (and other studies) 100% (that’s all!) races are won by s/he who spends more! – well politicians don’t have millions or billions, so in other words, as Trump rightfully says, Hillary (and all politicians) become pawns – in other words, to get elected you must pretend to be “for” the people, while really you are beholden – the second problem with our system is that it has no accountability – it is a little like psychology – if you go to a mechanic and your car doesn’t work, he didn’t fix the problem – but if you go to a psychologist and you don’t get better, whose to blame… – I posit a simple solution which is instead of democracy being opaque let it be transparent – let us poll the citizens and legislate
