Why man needs God

By zevi770 · November 3, 2015

Glen Beck wrote a book in which the premise is, can man govern himself?

When we look at this simple question – for thousands of years the answer was no (as dictators ruled, as we see in the Middle East – to them power is everything, your needs nothing).

So having their fill of dictatorship starting from the French revolution, people decided that people have the right to govern themselves – we are currently app. two hundred years later and though it is far kinder, gentler, it is total anarchy – a generation that is having sex like rabbits, not getting married, not to mention allowing the culture of hate (Arabs, terrorism) to spread like wildfire (after all, everyone may do what they want!)

The antidote is as it always was, as we see empirically, the Jewish way.

The Jewish way is very very unique.

Most directions in life are either north or south, east or west, effectively democracy and totalitarianism are extremes, one is absolute control, the other is out of control.

Judaism as Paul Johnson the famous historian who wrote a history of the Jews told Rabbi Jonathon Sacks, is a unique Divine blend between the responsibility of the community, as well as the responsibility of the individual.

For in the totalitarian approach all must conform to a “Higher Ideal” (we see this in communism, in political Islam (which is the essence of Islam – one world under Sharriah law, which is why even in Muslim countries, the real Muslims are fighting exclusively for Sharriah) at the opposite end of the spectrum is, all must give way to anyone’s predilections, as we see in the acceptance of anyone’s insane sexual desires (these days you even get the option of male female or other : )

But as we see so often, the reason we humans are so stupid is because we see things in either / or, when in truth, like a painter using many colors for effect, like the many different natural phenomena, from gravity to light etc. etc. all having mutual benefits we may hold onto conflicting ideas that are mutually beneficial.

In other words, instead of seeing the state as everything, we see the individual person’s growth – shaving his ego in obedience to God as everything.

Simultaneously the state has the rudimentary duty to recognize that there is evil – people who have not shaved their ego and hence are rapist and murders – and on a more global level, terrorists etc. – and they have the duty to protect the individual.
