why Islam is the same

As a Jew, of course I have had much experience

Living for the past two thousand years as a stranger in strange land

Under Islamic and Cristian dominion in the main

I got to experience both

Ironically, as savage as the Muslims were, the Christians were unmatched

From pogroms to holocausts (the holocaust was not the only time which a third of our people were mercilessly annihilated) from auto-da-fes (the inquisition’s tribunal burning Jews alive) to the “less terrorizing” expulsion (every European country had a period – of usually in the hundreds of years – when no Jew was allowed) Christians took the prize

But – and this is a colossal but

On the whole, Christians changed

For the Arabs (the main Islamic lands Jews lived in) have not

In other words, Christianity used to be – as it still is in Islam – intertwined with the governing of the state
