Ever wonder, why is there a sense of camaraderie in democracies, while anyone who has lived in third world countries, how much more so totalitarian states – Arabs for example – people are suspicious at best, rape, con, knive, steal, cheat, as usual?! – The reason is exceptionally important.
The basic premise of the democratic mindset, is, one man one vote, in other words, we elevate the status of the common man.
As such, people identify with one another, and when people identify they love.
Now what happens in quasi-democracies i.e. the mindset of democracy is not in the people, and certainly in totalitarian countries? Simple, people simply don’t identify – the individual is a pawn in the hands of the power brokers, in fact, everyone simply imitates the “might is right” attitude – for example, in south africa a poll showed an astounding 25% of the population had raped a woman and they were in their cultures the more affluent men for they were brought up on the role modeling that might is entitlement!
