Inspiration for life

Who You? The story of life is actually quite simple. But who am I to brag? I only discovered its simplicity after fifty years of thinking. And it goes like this:In the beginning, there is Divine consciousness — a Being who, since we are created in His image, mirrors who we are — namely alive and truthful as such identifies,  except that He is unlimited. And from this humble identification He created children — namely, me and you.But here is the punchline:We are the perception of our own existence. And more importantly, we fall in love with that perception. When a child is born and cries, lacking intelligence and awareness, it subconsciously assumes that it was not the compassion of the mother that brought it food, but its own ability — its cry — that produced the result. The body had a need. The body cried. The body was fed, clothed, comforted. And from that repeated experience, an ego is formed — a love and pride in the self. The child begins to identify as the body thinking I am the powerful body that makes things happen for myself.  This is why shame and depression emerge when a person cannot fulfill their needs. The identity is built on the pride of is power hence when we feel powerless the opposite occurs. (This is of course why there can be no greater Mitzvah than helping.)But here is the deeper punchline of the drama:We are in actual fact our mind and conscience. Our true identity is not the temporary physical self that cries and receives. Our true identity is Divine consciousness expressed through a human vessel. The purpose of life is to shed the false identification with the body and recreate a new identity — one rooted in the soul, which is truly G-d within us.That is the revolution.
