Who are you?

By zevi770 · April 23, 2014

What are you?

What will make you happy?

Let’s begin with, who are you?

We exist on two dimensions (in fact everything does.)

In simple words, everything has a body and a soul.

Now we are, as the Rebbe states, our opinions.

So effectively, who we are, is very much how we see ourselves.

This, in fact, is why people are different.

The Chinese kid doesn’t just speak Chinese, he knows he is Chinese – he knows he is not American.

The Christian kid doesn’t just believe in Jesus etc. he knows he doesn’t believe like the Jew etc. etc.

This of course is called identity – the perception of who we think we are.

Of course, take the same kid and bring him up in America, he will know he isn’t Chinese but American; maybe with slanted eyes, but certainly he is American.

Likewise, the Jewish kid knows he doesn’t believe in Jesus, and he isn’t a Christian.

So as you can tell, who we think we are, is simply only a perception (but as all of reality is, as Einstein so eloquently summed it up “reality is a perception, albeit a very persistent one.”)

The truth of course is, that the reason we come up with these perceptions, is, the mind is a blank slate, and develops it’s perceptions in infancy; mainly through a person’s frame of reference, so the Chinese kid’s frame of reference, tells him who he is; which automatically means who he isn’t; and likewise for each of us growing up in our environments.

Of course, if the frame of reference changes, so does the opinion.

Now truth is absolute, it doesn’t really depend on a frame of reference.

This being the case – the frame of reference, being only a perception, is simply inaccurate.

So then we need to re-ask the question, who are we?

The answer is, in fact, we are God!

For everything has a soul, a spirit that brings it into existence continually (as that which doesn’t exist, must be continually brought into existence; we are no more than God’s thoughts, and just like our own thoughts dissipate, once thought – in other words, you must continually rethink the thought in order for it to exist) this true identity of ours, our soul – and everything, even physical matter has a soul (e=m, matter is really an energy, as we explained elsewhere.)

So we have learnt that we exist on two planes, in the childhood mind, when we picked up our frame of reference; we are whatever identity we inherited from our environment, Jew, Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, nothing, American, Chinese etc.

But truth be told, there is nothing that exists without a soul and the soul is God, hence we are all a singular energy simply perceiving itself to be individuals.

Question number two is, what are you?

Now obviously, even if we are in essence God, we were created to perceive (again as Einstein says, “a very persistent,” hence to us, our primary perception) that we are individuals, with individual choices.

So what we are, is quite simply, who we think we are.

As the Bible teaches, God gives us a choice, we can choose light/love or darkness/anger, many are those who choose light, many are those who choose darkness/hate.
