Who are we?

In truth as Kabbalah teaches if you really have to boil down who we are, then as the Rebbe says, we are who we think we are – we are kind, when we think we are kind – we are evil, when we think others are evil – we are (to paraphrase the Baal Shem Tov) merely a body attached to a desire (say for sex) when we are desiring – so be who you consciously choose to be, for that is who you are!
