Where is your mind?

Rabbi Groner often speaks about mind-space.

Understanding mind space, is very important; for we have a great mistaken subconscious tendency to think, others think as we think.

First and foremost, the Jewish sages teach, everyone sees the world through their own set of experiences, so the very same stimuli, must by nature have different effects on different people.

Even twins from birth, doing everything together, experience things in their own way.

But here are the five major mind spaces:

Delusion – everyone is good.

Resentment – people are cruel (which leads to anger, which leads to a need to release that pent up steam (like a pressure cooker) which leads to hate, which leads to justification, which leads to violence – anyone in any of these “spaces” are heading in this direction, most notably antisemites, terrorists, radicals, bullies.)

Truth – “there is a God, and my job is to adhere to his higher wisdom!”

Love – as they say “love is blind” so one can see only the beauty in whom they love (which is why we should choose to love unconditionally, by seeing the lovable parts in others, including the commonality we share, for then we extend our self-love to them, hence treat them with love!)

Fear – this is an automatic reaction based on previous experiences, so if someone God-forbid got burned, they will naturally recoil from that stimuli.
