Where is God

Why is it that God who is everywhere states clearly “I cannot be within a arrogant person” (so at that time they are filled with demons who receive back handed energy to keep them alive) for what is arrogance, but a separate identity; and as the Alter Rebbe teaches, God resides only within that which is an empty vessel.
