When we are young we care – we see the adult world as the providers – we care deeply – we care so deep, that we are even willing to accept malicious talk meant to demean us- as our need for protection is so great, that we will adopt their opinion even to our own detriment – this explains the bizarre phenomena of some women in India who burn themselves – I believe it is, as they internalize their husbands hate, so in a bizarre twist, their very need for security convinces them to do all that which is destructive TO THEMSELVES
