When we are young, unhindered by the limitations of reality we dream big dreams – some people think this is foolish – for example, a good friend of mine was studying with me and told me that a number of years ago, he took a group of cub-scouts to visit one of our nations nuclear launch sites – a high ranking general came to speak to them and to give kids an example they can understand he said – “You see, it’s like Russia has a rock, so we need to have a bigger rock, that way they will be afraid to throw their rock” – a little boy innocently picked up his hand and said – “why can’t you and Russia just put away your rocks and play nicely?” – the general just moved to the next question – Who is right? – ironically they both are – Yes there must be a time in our life in which we cannot see the necessity for rocks and there must be a time in our life when we realize the necessity – However, and this is the critical issue – the crux of the matter – if you are the person offending versus the person defending, then you are the problem. – This is in fact most clearly seen in the case of Israel – all Israel wants is a country where Jews can live securely, free from the insane antisemitism of millenia – All the Arabs want, is as they chanted as the motive of their wars to God-forbid “push the Jews into the sea” – those who support the offenders and not defenders are no different to them – perhaps only as the philosophers who asked a lady, “Would you sleep with me for a million dollars,” so she was thinking, then he said “how about five?” so she retorted “what kind of a lady do you think I am?” – “well” said he – “we already established that – now we are haggling!”
