When we are young – amazingly this forms our identity – we assume a powerful delusion – “I can get what I want…” – you see, the way we form this delusion, is that we cry, and after we cry we are fed, put to sleep, burped (in fact, sadly there are studies done with basically neglected children in Romanian orphanages and they never develop a love for themselves, the stuff of ego) However in order to be normal, we need to modify this delusion (hence a spoiled child forever is at odds – as reality doesn’t give them their expectations that anything they want they should get.) However though an educated child gets that he must listen to the adults, this doesn’t mean he doesn’t wish to get his way – the proof is that when s/he is an adult, the same crazy ego (particularly if they do succeed, hence the delusion returns) thinks that once again they are entitled – for a person to be normal if we define that, as having a mind (not insane, if we define that as lacking rationality due to emotional thinking) they must understand that everything in life – even what they do accomplish is merely first Divinely ordained (this is similar to the Baal Shem Tov’s concept of “equanimity,” that no matter what happens to me I feel equal – for if all comes from God…
