What’s The Problem With Being Liberal?

I have come to realize, how even though it feels so right, it is so wrong to be liberal; as they say, “if you aren’t a liberal by the time you are twenty, you have no heart; if your aren’t a conservative by the time you’re thirty, you have no head.”
Practically I was a very big liberal – abhorred seeing anything wrong in anyone – truly loved everyone etc. etc. – however the fact is this, that love is a self-serving emotion – a child loves not out of conviction, but there is an instinct to seek unity, hence we love; However the problem with this very good trait is, because it is “I” who is loving, that “I,” just as easily will become angry if you hurt me; violent if you really hurt me!
Hence the truth is, an ego based love, is not love, it is infatuation; and hence we see, how though there may be a lot of love in marriages, there is perhaps equally a lot of anger, ego, hate and unfortunately, even violence!
The solution of course, is letting go of our ego, seeing ourselves merely as appendages to God!
