What Should We Take Pride In?

OK, this is a really big one:

Take a moment. Stop everything you’re doing. And listen carefully:

Everything depends on what you take your pride in – pride is kind of the source of happiness. So ultimately, your pride should be as G-d Himself says, Do not take your pride in your money, in your wisdom, in your strength, in your power. All of those are gifts from G-d, which, unfortunately actually none of us were born with any of it, and kind of besides for wisdom, none of us will take any of it with us. So what should we take pride in? That which is permanent, that which is truly powerful, that which is truly good—and that is G-d.

G-d has chosen you, and me, and everyone to be part of Him, part of the infinite story of reality. And take pride in the fact that you’re playing your part.
