What on earth is going on?

By zevi770 · March 30, 2016

This of course is the millennial question!

To answer this question millions of minds have come up with millions of answers.

All of them are to the best of my knowledge wrong.

The only answer I can see, comes from my master, teacher and guide, Rabbi Schneerson and it isn’t simple by any stretch of the imagination.

To begin:

The premise there is a single truth is not totally true.

Why cannot there be, multiple truths, operating simultaneously?

I recall being in an airport when I was a kid and as a real chatterer I struck up a conversation with a guy who happened to be an artist – so he showed me one of his drawings and being a smart-alec I told him there was something wrong because there were shadows going in different directions though there was only one direction sunlight could create shadows at any given moment – “Who says there aren’t multiple suns?” – Good point! If he is the artist there can be as many suns and shadows as he wants.

So this is number one – just because our infinitely tiny putrid brain can convenience of but a single concept at a time, certainly create a single reality, doesn’t mean an infinite mind which means infinite concepts, cannot create infinite realities simultaneously.

O.k. we got over point one:

Life need not be about one religion or idea, rather it can be about multiple.

So here is, to the best of my humble understanding, what Rabbi Schneerson and Judaism with Jewish mysticism teach:

To begin with, there is no necessity for you or for anything to exist.

Nature is as science has corroborated, repetitive-miracles.

In simple words, we are (as has been scientifically corroborated) in a computer game, though we don’t know it.

So existence is simply a mechanism, creating a fundamental premise of existence (say that a couple of times please.)

O.k so now the next question is, who on earth wanted and more importantly why did he want for there to be a perception of existence??

Well out of love a loving father decided to birth you (and everyone else.)

O.k. so love creates.

Why?

The answer of course is, there is no other reason to love, then the desire to give! as the Hebrew word for Ahavah (a language precise and Divinely inspired) has the word hav, so within the Hebrew word love is the word “to give”; to quote our sages “creation is an expression of the Creator’s goodness.”

But we now must ask the next question: how good do you think your life is? – how good is his goodness?

And this is where the next goodness comes in; for if the Creator bestowed all that was good to you, you could never feel good, for if I find a beggar in the street and give him a credit card in which he can now buy anything he needs – and with my unlimited credit even a home, car, plane etc. – he will never be happy; for though he might live well, as we who live well in the west know, living well, doesn’t buy happiness!

You see happiness can only come from doing something meaningful!

Hence the way the Creator made us, is, in order to be happy we need to put in the maximum effort; we need to overcomer our selfish instincts that drive us to distraction, we need to start being good and kind.

And here is the ultimate intent in creation, for when you, yes you, right now! (and others) start doing this, then the world becomes a loving place – and don’t we all desire that!
