What Judaism brought to the world – as Paul Johnson, one of the most erudite modern historians says – “though things may seem self-evident after they are revealed it takes a special sort of genius to reveal it” (so we cannot credit ourselves, but God – and as Paul says) Judaism brought to the world that all people are equal – that all people are special – that all people have a purpose – that all people are equal under the law – that governments must obey a legal system (in fact, the modern democracy, is simply a play on the legal system of Judaism, as is the modern court system) that people should be helped unconditionally – What Jewish mysticism brought to the world – equilibrium – for if all comes from God, it must be good, so instead of getting uptight, Be-Happy! and when you’re happy, you automatically are nice
