What is the Divine intent

By zevi770 · September 7, 2014

So to understand God, we need to go to whoever understood God

There is no doubt, that from the beginning of time till today, the one who understood the Divine intent was the Rebbe, who had a prodigious mind, capable of discerning through literally all the almost infinite volumes of Torah he had memorized, the core intent of God

From the little I know of the Rebbe’s teaching, the following is the Divine intent:

  1. There is no Divine intent – to say there is a Divine intent, is to presuppose a being, who needs something; the Divine intent is an expression of the Divine will, which is love
  2. So our very existence, before we do anything is the Divine intent (similar to a parent, so the child is the expression of the love of the parent for the child (or the concept of having a child) and their very existence fills them with profound joy.
  3. Moving right along, obviously as we are expressions of God’s love, he wants what’s best for us.
  4. What’s best for us is for us to be able to feel proud of ourselves.
  5. Hence this world is a serious war between light and darkness, good and selfish (and worse, angry jealous, hence spiteful malicious) impulses; by overcoming our selfish and narcissistic side for our selfless side, we become rightfully proud of the goodness and kindness we do
  6. Now an important corollary reality can be deduced, for many are those mistakenly under the assumption that somehow the physical, material world is anti-Divine intent – if the Divine intent is an expression of his love, he does, will, and will continually do even more so! give us a great physical material life – it is our job to not allow our foolish instincts to accumulate, destroy our higher instinct to give
