What is as important as how

How we do things cannot be divorced from what we do
The famous saying, the means justify the end, is opposite to Judaism, for the simple reason that the means are often the same as the end!
The most important mitzvah of the Torah is to “love your fellow Jew as yourself.”
So say I decided to become a shaliach – spread Judaism – the purpose of course is, to love your fellow Jew as yourself, thereby helping them learn something valuable.
Now if my means would be abrasive, then not only would it be in contradiction to my end, it would be in contradiction to allowing anyone to see the goal of Judaism.
