What does the Bible mean that thus shall man leave his attachment to his mother and father and attach himself to his wife

The Bible explains
Adam and eve are really one person
A person naturally cleaves to his parent knowing (at least subconsciously) that he or she comes from them.
But says God, your other half is the other half of your own soul, so your attachment to them far outweighs your connection then to your very own parents.
