What came before me (and you)

By zevi770 · March 13, 2016

What came before me were people who desired to live

Of course my parents

But from my father’s side, his father, a sole survivor of at least 70 cousins (as well as two others, a niece and nephew)

On my mother’s side, her mother who lost her father, murdered by the communists in the anti-Judaism purge

Her father, both her grandmother and grandfather – the former died in Russian prison, helping Jews escape the hell; the latter for being a religious Jew

And before them, be it the Spanish Inquisition or the Crusaders

The pogroms or the Cossacks

Be it Rome, Babylonia, Egypt

All in all, it seems to me that the truth is as follows

A Jew is like a sheep amongst seventy bloodthirsty wolves

But the shepherd is he who made the wolves

With a simple flash all the wolves will not only disappear

They will turn to sheep
