We must ask the question, how did we get here?

I recall, that I was most proud of the fact that growing up in America I never once heard an antisemetic slur – how has the country that prided itself on individual rights, become a place where 90% of Jewish students feel intimidated on American college campuses? I myself have received a few antisemetic slurs.  I can recall in the past few years three stabbings in Brooklyn!  There was a white supremist shooting next to our Chabad House in Kansas City (which ironically killed three gentiles in two Jewish community facilities) the list is tragically endless.

How is it that Europe that also prided itself on democratic values have French Jews fleeing? British Jews afraid to where a Yarmulka? (I have lived in Britain for two years and never felt any fear.)

How do we have a reality where Jews are being murdered, the White House is obnoxious, the U.N celebrates the “resistors of occupation”?

The answer is very simple – no one could have imagined the truth – I am embarrassed to say, I myself am one of those – when the Rebbe said another holocaust could happen in America, we simply couldn’t believe it. But to see how one black man of Arabic descent whose claim to fame is how much he hates (very similar to Hitler) can get literally tens of millions of Americans to hate is unbelievable – to condone hatred of Israel, thus giving a superpower credence to anti-Semitism, shocking.

So the question my dear friend is, what is the solution? The solution it seems clear to me is we must stop being politicians – our grandparents and great-grandparents in Europe truly believed that the civilized world would never allow an uncivilized madman to gas a million children to death – how wrong they were.

So if politics will not save us, then what will
