We cannot get beyond ourselves if we are stuck in ourselves – now this doesn’t mean necessarily narcissism – a delusional sense of grandiosity – rather we all have an element of self centerdness – in a sense, it is the only way we can (at least in childhood survive – for if a child didn’t cry for his needs he would literally starve – interestingly our sages teach that just like a lion sucks his paws trying to quench his hunger pains before he hunts, similarly a baby curls their hand and only after not being saitited, from pain cries) however, once we are ready to embark on life’s true journey – it’s time to let go
